Job description

Duties:

• Refer Medi-Cal eligible patients to Department of Public Social Services to apply for benefits
• Collect and record payments from patients
• Verify patient income and third party insurance eligibility
• Maintain patient financial files
• Prepare invoices for patients with full cost of care
• Assist with other front office duties as needed

Hours:

• Monday through Friday (40 hours)
• Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Meal Period: 30 minutes

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two (2) years front office/customer service experience
• Must show valid California driver's license and current automobile insurance prior to start date.
• Must maintain a good driving record and provide verification of current automobile insurance on an annual basis.
• Ability to pass thorough background check, Hillview will consider for employment all qualified Applicants, including those with Criminal Histories, in a manner consistent with applicable state and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles’ Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance.

Required Education:

• High school diploma

• Comfortable working with a diverse clinical population, including clients with severe and persistent mental disabilities.
• Compassion for clients, ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, demonstrate sound judgement, give attention to detail, be flexible, self-driven and motivated.
• Must have basic computer data entry skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.

Preferred Skills:

• Bilingual in Spanish-English
• Prior front office and customer service experience in a medical setting
