A Typical Day

The Inventory Control Operator is responsible for the management and maintenance of inventories, including daily cycle counts and year-end audits.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating cycle counts, counting zones, inputting and updating in SAP.
  • Able to answer internal customer questions/concerns about inventories.
  • Checks inventory of product and obtains anticipated dates that the requested product will be available.
  • Troubleshoot situations as they arise between customer service and warehouse personnel to ensure verification of products in a timely manner.
  • Provides backup support to the warehousing staff.
  • Input data into system in order to generate reports and verify inventory system, must be able to complete processes in an accurate and thorough manner.
  • Forklift driving
  • Achieve common business goals through cooperative alignment with all departments.
  • Active participation and ownership in your training and development program and associated activities, classes and events, which will be held before, during, after shifts and during scheduled days off.
  • Help coach and train teammates and participate in on the job training.
  • Place high priority on food safety and sanitation by understanding and executing HCC’s food safety and sanitation policies and procedures. This includes communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates as well as participating in food safety and sanitation root cause analysis and improvement activities when required.
  • Prioritize safety above all other job duties by having a safety first approach at all times. This includes reporting any safety issues, observations, opportunities to your teams and follow up.

What You Will Need

  • English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to work 8-hour or 12-hour variable shifts, including weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • RF scanning knowledge
  • SAP experience
  • Knowledge of warehouse management software systems
  • High organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift 60lbs.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Working knowledge of cycle count reports
  • Warehousing experience, preferably in inventory control
  • Has completed/in the process of completing HCC Level 1 Leadership training
  • Experience as an On the Job Trainer
  • Active/past member of department safety team

  • Pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, handling and grasping, twisting/turning, repetitive bending.
