Overview:

Do you have a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences and a talent for building a high-performing team?

The Hilton University of Florida Conference Center, a vibrant hospitality destination in Gainesville, FL, is seeking a dedicated and results-oriented Director of Housekeeping to oversee our 248 guest rooms and 25,000 sq ft of meeting space.

In this leadership role, you'll be the champion of cleanliness and service excellence:

  • Lead by Example: Upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, quality, and service across the entire property, ensuring compliance with Hilton Worldwide and corporate standards.
  • Building a Dream Team: Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and developing exceptional housekeeping personnel to foster a positive and empowering work environment.
  • Cultivating a Culture of Excellence: Scheduling, training, motivating, and coaching a team to consistently deliver exceptional guest experiences that exceed expectations.
  • Ensuring Operational Efficiency: Effectively managing staff, planning workloads, maintaining inventory control, and monitoring payroll to optimize department performance.
  • Safety First: Prioritizing a safe and secure work environment for your team and guests, enforcing all safety procedures and reporting any unsafe conditions.
  • Open Communication: Actively participating in departmental meetings, collaborating with leadership (including the GM & Director of Engineering) on maintenance programs, and staying abreast of industry trends.
  • Guest Focus: Responding to guest inquiries and requests with promptness, courtesy, and a commitment to satisfaction, ensuring every guest experience is distinctively supreme.
  • Performance Management: Conducting performance evaluations, providing ongoing coaching and development, and collaborating with leadership on disciplinary matters (when necessary).
Qualifications:

We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses the following:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three years of management experience in housekeeping or a related service industry with a high degree of guest/client contact.
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.
  • A commitment to teamwork, empowerment, and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Proactive problem-solving, meticulous attention to detail, and a dedication to continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
