Hilton is Hiring a Chef de Cuisine - San Laurel at Conrad Los Angeles Near Los Angeles, CA

Join us as a Chef de Cuisineand be a part of the newest luxury hotel in downtown LA, Conrad Los Angeles! As part of the highly anticipated billion-dollar The Grand LA project, this is the 7th Conrad Hotel in the U.S. and the 1st in California.

Located in the most exciting state-of-the-art development to come to DTLA, this luxurious 28-story hotel will have over 300 rooms, a spa, 16,000 square foot rooftop with a pool deck, over 13,000 square feet of event space, and 6 food and beverage outlets. This includes a signature restaurant & bar, a signature bar, rooftop restaurant, lobby bar, pool, and in-room dining all in partnership with Chef Jose Andres' award-wining restaurant group, Jose Andres Group.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent culinarian and leader with a passion for creating memorable experiences, a talent for staff training and development, and proven success of consistently executing a high-quality product in a high-volume environment. At least two (2) years’ experience as a Restaurant Chef with a background in high-volume and upscale restaurants is required. Prior hotel and union management experience are a plus.

What will I be doing?

As Chef de Cuisine, you would be responsible for assisting in the direction and administration of the planning, preparation, production and control of culinary operations in the rooftop restaurant, pool, and lobby bar in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in the direction and oversight of all culinary operations, to include, but not limited to, preparation and production of all hotel meals, food quality and presentation, compliance with all safety and sanitation standards and regulation, team member productivity and performance, implementation of policies and procedures, cost controls and overall profitability
  • Assist the Executive Chef by interacting with guests and clients to monitor and assess satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly
  • Stay abreast on current food trends and techniques, and regional tastes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, conducting counseling and assisting with evaluations, training, scheduling and assigning work and delivering recognition and reward

The annual salary range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
