Hire Heroes USA is Hiring a Donor Relations Specialist Near Alpharetta, GA

PositionReporting to the Manager, Donor Relations, the Donor Relations Specialist oversees the administrative and stewardship responsibilities of Hire Heroes USA’s individual giving program to increase revenue in support of Hire Heroes USA’s programs and services. The specialist possesses comprehensive program knowledge, strategic perspective, and exceptional organizational and administrative skills that result in a proactive approach to database management, donor relations, and donor management.
This is a full-time, remote position
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all administrative aspects of the Hire Heroes USA Development Program including daily gift processing of all online, mail, and electronic transfer donations, creating new donor records and updating existing donor records to include names, contact information, constituencies, contact preferences, and other relevant data within Salesforce and other tracking systems
  • Generate timely, accurate, and personalized correspondence, including gift acknowledgement letters to donors
  • Maintain a donor communications and fundraising calendar and communicate upcoming deadlines in tracking documents, Salesforce and Pardot
  • Coordinate stewardship activities for bequest donors, including personalized recognition and ongoing communication
  • Perform monthly screenings of new donors using wealth screening systems to identify major gift prospects
  • Initiate qualification calls with potential major donors to confirm their interest and preferences, subsequently determining eligibility for inclusion in major donor portfolios
  • Work with accounting department to reconcile revenue
  • Implement and manage a systematic and integrated donor relations program that celebrates donors and keeps them informed of the impact of their gifts
  • Research and assist with fundraising opportunities, including event preparation, funder initiatives, and online fundraising campaigns
  • Coordinate and execute various tasks and initiatives within fundraising campaigns, spanning direct mail, online giving, peer-to-peer, and special events to meet fundraising goals and objectives
  • Monitor the general development email and phone inboxes and serve as the first line of contact for donor inquiries and requests, help connect donors with others within the Development team as needed and record donor interactions in Salesforce
  • Work closely with Manager, Donor Relations on the creation of individual donor communications, including monthly and quarterly newsletters, fundraising appeals, and additional communication
  • Engage with key stakeholders to support fundraising activities
Desired Skills And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 2 years of experience working in an office environment. Relevant development/fundraising experience in a charity, not-for-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Salesforce Nonprofit Experience highly preferred
  • High degree of discretion in dealing with confidential information
  • Ability to develop productive relationships across departments
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team, while productively engaging with varying levels of seniority within and outside Hire Heroes USA
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects and initiatives at one time
Work Environment/Physical Demands
  • General office environment; temperature controlled
  • Routinely uses standard office equipment, e.g. copiers, phones, computers
  • Travel Required: Up to 10%
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
Estimated New Hire Salary: $46,850 - $52,782 annuallyHire Heroes USA may offer additional compensation to include:
