Our international energy infrastructure client is in search of a dynamic, Accounting Analyst. This position will be in the Houston Corporate HQ group reporting to the SeniorAccountant with shared responsibilities across the finance areas including: Accounting, Planning, Financial Reporting and similar functions, as necessary. Candidate can choose to work in the downtown or Woodlands office.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
•Maintain updated corporate books and records for Holding Companies.
•On a regular basis, interact with our LatinAmerica teams.
•Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts and bank reconciliations, with complete understanding of all outstanding balances. Maintain proper supporting documentation.
•Support with consolidation of the financial statements, notes and explanations as needed.
•Propose and implement improvements as needed.
•Ensure proper translation and revaluation of foreign currency trial balance.
•Process Payroll entries and provide variance analysis.
•Review, identify, and book any necessary inter-company eliminations.
•Ensure accurate and timely monthly reporting between entities.
•Assist with audit process.
•Assist with budgeting, forecasting and other ad-hoc projects supporting the management team needs.
•Be highly personable and a proactive individual ready to wear multiple hats and challenge the status-quo.
SKILLS and REQUIREMENTS
•Bachelor's degree in Business, in Accounting.
•Prefer 2-5 years of experience in accounting or equivalent, preferably in international company setting.
•Bilingual a plus but not required - ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and Spanish.
•Strong communication skills, be able to work independently and be team oriented.
•Excellent organizational skills and able to manage multiple projects.
•Possess a strong ability to synthesize complex or diverse information.
•Excellent interpersonal skills required.
•Must possess a high level of personal and professional accountability and be able to enlist the cooperation of peer groups involved in common business goals and objectives.
•Ability to meet changing demands and to adapt to frequently changing priorities.
•Technical knowledge in US GAAP. IFRS knowledge also preferred but not required.
•Availability to travel in a normal year –5-10% international travel.
•Proficiency in Excel, accounting software packages, and financial reporting software.
•NetSuite experience a plus but not required
