VP, Finance About my client My Client provides a versatile, modern helpdesk software platform to manage a wide range of customer support activities. The Company has spent ~20 years building a comprehensive solution to centralize support workflows and communication channels with extensive automation capabilities for ticket routing, communications, and data aggregation. My client is used by external-facing customer support teams and internal employee-facing teams (IT, HR, finance, etc.) across all industries to optimize agent productivity and improve user experiences. Today, my client has more than 50 employees and 650 customers. Originally based in London, UK, my client has recently been acquired by a growth private equity firm. My client's headquarters is being established in Austin, TX. Location This position is based in Austin, TX, with a hybrid Office / WFH model. VP, Finance We are looking to hire a VP of Finance to lead the company from a financial perspective. Reporting to the CEO, you will be a key member of the Executive Team and take ownership of all company fiscal and regulatory matters. To succeed in this role you should have experience as a VP or Senior Director of Finance in private equity or venture capital backed technology companies with complex financials, an extensive balance sheet and international subsidiaries. Experience in a SaaS model business with knowledge of ARR, NRR, Churn, Upsell Rates, and other critical metrics to budget will be areas of focus in the role. Responsibilities
Oversee the company's fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, tax, auditing, revenue recognition, debt, equity and cap table management
Assure legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations
Support the CEO in shaping communications with the company's Board of Directors, shareholders and employees
Work with the CEO and Executive Team to develop the strategic plan
Manage international business operations including a UK subsidiary and transfer pricing
Manage the introduction of a new billing system and ultimately new overall financial system
Direct and coordinate financial planning and budget management functions including short-and long-term budgeting and forecasting and profitability analysis; monitor and control cash flow
Assist with high-level decisions about policy and strategy
Provide guidance on business models and pricing
Identify and address financial risks and opportunities for the company
Develop and supervise the Finance team
Potentially manage PEO relationship when the number of US employees meets the relevant threshold
Recruit new staff members as necessary
Requirements
Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant discipline
Experience in a VP of Finance, Senior Director of Finance position
Strong financial and accounting background, including expertise in profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, tax management and general finance and budgeting
Experience with corporate governance
Experience in international business, including managing multiple international entities and transfer pricing. Experience of operating a UK subsidiary highly preferred.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance
Experience leading cross-functional teams
Experience with mergers and acquisitions
Experience with software business models, including cloud / SaaS offerings
Proven negotiation skills
Ability to understand new issues quickly and make informed decisions
Ability to inspire confidence and create trust
Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively, and delegate effectively
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-experts effectively
