What You'll Do:

• Design new and modernize existing applications in support of the Actuarial Transformation initiative.
• Work with development teams and product owners/managers to build software solutions.
• Implement solutions using AWS cloud services.
• Write effective APIs.
• Work with large volumes of data in both relational and No SQL databases.
• Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software.
• Create security and data protection settings.
• Write technical documentation.
• Work with actuaries and analysts to elicit requirements for software development.

What You Bring:

Desired Skills:

• College Degree with one of the following preferred majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, or relevant field.
• A strong understanding of Object-Oriented design concepts, data structures, and algorithms.
• Practical coding experience, with a strong preference in Python, Pyspark, Java, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js).
• Strong knowledge of developing Restful Services and APIs utilizing Python or Java. · Strong knowledge of the AWS Cloud ecosystem and Lambda Services.
• Fundamental knowledge using SQL.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with insurance industry and/or actuarial systems and processes is a plus.
