HireDirect is currently seeking a Controls Technician to join a stable, growing company with a positive work environment in Trafford, Alabama. As a Controls Technician you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting control systems to ensure efficient operation and reliability. This role involves working with electrical, mechanical, and computer systems to manage automated processes.

Important Details

  • Direct Hire Opportunity
  • Hourly pay rate $24.00
  • Benefits Company pays 50% for the employee- Insurance is available after the first 30 days of employment.
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday starting time 7am or 8am working 10-hour shifts

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sketch new designs or redline existing drawings according to requests from clients
  • Utilize Client Machine Drafting Standards to supply equipment designs, schematics, and layouts
  • Oversee the sketching and drawing of draftsmen, offering suggestions for improvement when necessary
  • Identify potential or existing flaws, perform troubleshooting based on computer-aided (CAD) formats
  • Document Startup processes and designs of mechanical and electrical systems for production equipment
  • Analyze equipment installation practices and offer solutions to improve the efficacy of installation schedules
  • Work with all electrical components, relays, sensors, ac and dc motors, driver's servo systems and pneumatics systems.
  • Perform PLC program creation and modifications and electronic modifications to production equipment.
  • Work with voltages ranging from 12 VAC to 600 VAC.
  • Maintain, repair, calibrate & commission programmable control systems

Preferred skills:

  • PLC Programming Software: Automation Direct Software
  • AutoCAD Electrical Drawings

Education/Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and computer systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
