Role: Staff Engineer – Project Manager (PM)

Job Description: Are you a seasoned engineer and project management professional? We're seeking a Staff Engineer – Project Manager who excels in initiating and executing complex capital projects, from development through close-out. This role is pivotal in ensuring our capital plans are delivered on time and within budget, leveraging technology to its fullest potential. As a leader, you'll tackle challenges with urgency and meticulous attention to detail, guiding our team to success.

Specific Role Focus Area:

• Lead an engineering team, fostering accountability, motivation, and productivity.
• Implement engineering solutions and understand their impact on business outcomes.
• Apply financial measures to drive engineering and financial analysis.
• Use root cause analysis to creatively solve complex engineering challenges.

Interactions and Partnerships: You'll collaborate with technical teams, manufacturing leaders, corporate functions, external vendors, and governmental agencies to ensure seamless project execution.

Travel Expectations: This role involves travel as needed to fulfill job duties.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• 75% Deliver Capital Projects
• Lead execution through all project phases: Initiating, planning, execution, testing, turnover, closure.
• Develop and implement multiple capital projects simultaneously.
• Provide technical direction and develop sound engineering recommendations.
• Innovate and establish new procedures and technologies.
• 15% Capital Project Development
• Promote a performance-driven project management process.
• Use negotiation skills to navigate the capital approval process.
• Develop business cases and technical plans for customer acceptance.
• 10% Leading and Developing External Partnerships
• Manage relationships with external engineering partners.
• Ensure compliance with our project standards.

Dimensions:

• People Leadership: 5-50 employees
• Capital Budget Accountability: $20-80M per PM
• Project Timeframe: 10-24 months

Minimum Requirements:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project, SAP, and Microsoft Teams.
• Experience in capital budget administration.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of good manufacturing practices.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years managing multiple capital projects over $1M.
• Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification preferred.
