In this role you will maintain tooling equipment and cleanliness of assigned work areas, and adhere to prescribed safety rules and regulations. Report to supervision any unsafe conditions that they may become aware of. Must wear or use all company required safety equipment and have ability to lift, hold and carry up to 40 pounds unaided
Key Accountabilities
- Machine propellers and CP blades using one or more of the following pieces of equipment; saws, horizontal and vertical boring mills, key seater, lathes, and measuring devices
- Utilize methods used to hold and fixture work through the use of shims, wedges, parallels, blocks, supports, chucks and other holding devices to obtain proper alignment and to avoid moving or breaking of tools and parts
- Work to machine dimensions and maintain close tolerances and correlated dimensions with a high demand for squareness, concentricity, finish and parallelism
- Layout work as required. Select speeds and feeds according to type of material and finish requirements
- Using a variety of precision measuring instruments, inspect in process or finished parts to validate above mentioned form and feature characteristics as well as manufacturing methods to blueprint specifications. Read, understand and follow set-up procedures, operate and adjust machines. Operate and adjust machine controls to meet variable machining conditions
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of machining methods, cutting qualities of metals and tools
- Ability to operate various cranes, material handling equipment and various types of machining equipment etc.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
