Our team in the SDG Space Sector s Actuation and Avionics Business Unit is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the EE Product Engineering Group. You will report to the Staff Product Engineering Manager and lead a team of ~12 engineers to design, develop, and manufacture space flight hardware that will survive the harsh environments of space. This position will have an onsite work schedule in East Aurora, New York and requires access to U.S. export-controlled information and the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
The Senior Engineering Manager will be expected to:
Assign programs and projects to direct reports in timely manner and monitor these tasks so they are completed within technical, cost, and schedule constraints.
Provide personal development for assigned direct reports by conducting performance reviews, training, mentoring, and monitoring career development.
Lead the development of strong engineering teams within the site that execute the business.
Support the succession planning engineering talent.
Mentor and coach the development of new engineering leads to develop the leadership depth to support business growth and succession planning across sites.
Work on assigned programs directly as a member of a program team in support of technical and programmatic goals.
Identify and implement strategies that take advantage of synergies across multiple projects or programs. Look to improve the efficiency of the overall engineering approach.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to the broader organization by providing input to the engineering strategy.
Interface with ***'s customers in a professional and ethical manner in order to support staffing and technical needs of programs.
Develop, maintain, and continuously improve engineering processes for the supported business so that the processes are effective in meeting the needs of the customers. Assist in the creating of new processes to support the business.
Resolve problems that arise.
A qualified candidate should have the following experience...
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field
10 Years of relevant technical experience
