Senior Analyst (Business Analyst)
Location: Chicago, IL

Position Responsibilities

- This role is a hands-on position within our Application Development Team, focusing on our proprietary applications and third-party vendor systems across various Accounting functions.
- Responsibilities include business analysis, software configuration, project management, quality assurance, functional design, application support, vendor management, and other related duties.
- The ideal candidate will have recent experience as a Business Analyst, interacting with users, collaborating with development teams, documenting business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, and executing test plans.

The ideal candidate must be able to:
- Become a subject matter expert in core business functions and technology solutions.
- Develop detailed requirements documentation, including user stories, use cases, design specifications, business process and data flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Independently execute complex data analysis across multiple platforms.
- Build solutions within a Microsoft-based technology environment, leveraging best practices for scalability and maintainability.
- Participate in problem analysis with business users and contribute to strategic software solutions and enhancements.
- Manage support issues raised by the business, ensuring timely resolution within defined SLAs.
- Establish strong and productive relationships with key stakeholders to convey requirements and drive process improvements.
- Confidently facilitate meetings with business users and technology colleagues. Develop and execute comprehensive unit and integration test plans.
- Ensure delivered solutions meet the highest quality standards and satisfy specified business requirements through rigorous validation and testing.

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree required, with 3 years of work experience in the financial industry or similar role working with enterprise-level applications.
- Strong analytical skills to document and translate business requirements for in-house development or third-party software customization.
- Prior working knowledge of Azure DevOps or similar work item management tools preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mathematical aptitude, with experience in accounting systems a plus.
- Experience with system integration and programming/scripting languages (e.g., SQL) beneficial.
- Familiarity with agile development practices and Microsoft DevOps advantageous.
- Self-motivated with exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Results-oriented with a high level of personal accountability.
