Controller/ Accounting Manager - Fred Haas Automotive Group
Fred Haas Automotive group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented manager to join our team. This individual will oversee the accounting operations of the various entities and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of automotive operations, reporting directly to the platform director and chairman.
Job Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
• Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors, and prepare necessary documentation.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports.
• Maintain and update entities accounting policies and procedures.
• Provide financial analysis and decision support to management.
• Supervise and develop the accounting team.
• Negotiate contracts for Insurance,401k plan, benefits and claims processing.
• Work directly with CPA firm on tax filings, distribution and compliance.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Controller or similar role, preferably in an automotive dealership.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Automotive dealership experience strongly preferred.
