Job Title: Swing Shift Operations Supervisor

Department: Mechanical Assembly

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Location: Onsite, Hillsboro, OR

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Swing Shift Supervisor to lead and oversee a team of 8 material handlers and 12 assemblers in our facility. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of our assembly production processes, maintaining the highest standards of safety, and product quality.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and inspire a team to achieve optimal performance, productivity, and collaboration within the manufacturing environment.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all team members adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Foster a culture of safety awareness and provide ongoing safety training.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce stringent quality control standards to guarantee the production of high-quality products that meet or exceed industry and customer specifications.
  • Workflow Management: Coordinate and manage the daily activities of the kiting team and assembly team including scheduling, task assignments, and resource allocation, to ensure timely completion of projects and production targets.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs, provide coaching, and facilitate skill development programs for team members to enhance their technical capabilities and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process enhancement, operational efficiency improvements, and cost-saving measures, and implement these changes on the production floor.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production activities, quality control checks, safety incidents, and other relevant documentation. Provide daily reports to management on team performance, operations, and safety metrics.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the mechanical assembly or equipment manufacturing industry.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Proficiency in assembly techniques, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Detail-oriented mindset and commitment to maintaining a high level of cleanliness, safety, and product quality.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges and driving process improvements.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
