Role responsibilities

As a Bid Manager (f/m/d) you will be:

You will be responsible for preparing complex bids for our DACH regions for the railway infrastructure.

First and foremost, you will independently prepare challenging bids for new projects for our DACH regional customers and be responsible for all related technical aspects of the bidding process from prequalification phase till bid submission.

You will lead and coordinate the bidding team (internal and external) and you will ensure the timely preparation of competitive and high-quality offers through close co-operation with specialist departments (Sales, Engineering, Procurement, etc.).

Together with the Bid team, you will analyze the tender documents, derive bid strategies on your own responsibility, prepare comprehensive documentation and competitive cost and price calculations, taking the target price into account.

You will support the procurement department during negotiation and clarification meeting with external contractors

You will be responsible for procuring of sub-bids, and coordination and documentation of cost estimates (internally with specialist departments, externally with Procurement)

You will be responsible for collecting cost and calculating the project costs (considering the target price) and together with the bid team prepare customer-orientated tender deliverables and bid documents

Together with the Sales Managers you will conduct the customer negotiations at various stages of contract initiation.

You will also ensure compliance with the bidding processes and present your bids to management.

Required Skills/ Knowledge:

You should have the knowledge of Market, Technical, Cost estimating and Negotiation skills.

You should be able to read and understand standards and requirements specifications.

You already have many years of professional experience in sales, project management or bid management in the rail industry, plant construction or similar.

You have very good experience in preparing quotations.

You are experienced in communicating with international, cross-location teams and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

Education:​

University Degree (engineering) or Equivalent Technical Background from 5 up to 10 years of experience

Languages:

English - Full professional proficiency is mandatory

German - Full professional proficiency is highly appreciated
