We are seeking an exceptional Fleet Claims Manager to join our mission to unlock the full carbon benefit of electric vehicles (EVs) and reduce a gigaton of carbon emissions. Hive’s Fleet Operations team delivers exceptional customer experiences and ensures the preparation and readiness of our EVs. As the Claims Manager, you will lead Hive’s vehicle claims support, tracking, and reporting processes while helping design and refine a dynamic flow for claims support tickets and communications. The ideal Claims Manager has experience within the auto-insurance industry, has experience working in a start-up or similar environment, and has a strong sense for determining and managing priorities. This role will report to the Director of Fleet Operations. As an early member of our team, this position offers an excellent opportunity for rapid professional growth as you earn responsibility in claims and other fleet support functions. We are looking for the next wave of leaders to help take our company to the next level.

About the Role

• Own Hive’s internal claims process including claims support, tracking, and reporting.
• Liaise with external partners at insurance carriers, transportation providers, and vehicle repair facilities to guide Hive EVs back to productive use in our fleet in a timely and cost effective manner.
• Support the design, development, and improvement of our claims management processes and systems.
• Help create and maintain comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Work with leadership to guarantee coverage and compliance with our qualification criteria to ensure the best drivers enjoy access to our highly demanded EVs.
• Provide timely and accurate review and reporting of critical insurance and claim information to internal and external partners.
• Have a comprehensive understanding of Hive’s business as a whole and the implications of your activity and decisions on the success of the business.
• Roll-up your sleeves and get involved in operational activities such as calling and texting members and external partners.
• Participate in future growth of our team through training and hiring new claims team members.

About you

• A champion of EVs and their immediate impact on the environment!
• Located in Los Angeles and willing to work in-person.
• 3 years in insurance claims management, customer service, or support roles.
• Knowledge of automotive insurance claims processes and practices.
• Extensive knowledge and comfort with customer communication and ticketing/CRM platforms.
• Proven and verifiable track record of achieving and exceeding targets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to understand members’ needs and suggest the right course of action.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, a much needed tool for anyone in a high-paced, start-up environment.
• Ability to multitask between the competing priorities of new claims and existing claim resolution.
• Data driven and analytical minded, with the ability to digest and translate information into actionable goals.
• Enjoy entrepreneurial environments and the rapidly changing pace that comes with it.
• Willing to work occasional weekend hours (with advance notice).

Preferred requirements

• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, easily able to follow an SOP but also capable of out-of-the-box solutions for things that aren’t in the SOP.
• Military experience is a plus.
• Start up experience is a plus.
• MBA or similar professional degree
