Title: Development Accountant
Overview:
Hixen Search Group is assisting one of its best clients located in Columbus in a search for a Development Accountant. The company, a premier real estate and development company, is searching for a high quality professional to join the team. The Development Accountant will report directly to the Controller and will be groomed for future advancement within the company. The role handles construction accounting for a premier project in downtown Columbus and works closely with project managers and executives. The company is growing, has historically promoted within 12 – 18 months, and offers an excellent career path!!
Responsibilities:

• Construction accounting for various projects including job costing and construction draws
• Interact with upper level leadership as well as Operations on a daily basis to review project budgets/costs
• Prepare monthly pay applications and lender draws
• Prepare costing related journal entries and reconciliations
• Complete monthly balance sheet analysis and reporting
• Assist with the annual budget and forecasting process – various ad hoc analysis projects
• Prepare various financial reports for lenders and leadership

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Bachelors in Accounting
• 2 – 5 years’ experience with public accounting or experience with project accounting
• Good communication skills – ability to communicate with Project Managers and external partners
