Title: Project / Development Accountant

Overview:

Hixen Search Group is seeking a Project/Development Accountant for a local real estate investment company. The successful candidate will be responsible for cost and budget tracking for projects, financial statement preparation, and financial reporting. This role will report directly to the Asst. Controller and will be given ample exposure to various leaders in the company, as well as collaborating with other accounting/finance teams.

Responsibilities:

• Perform both project cost accounting and corporate operational accounting
• Monitor project costs and ensure it stays within budget
• Responsible for renovation and construction draw process for assigned projects and manage ongoing working capital
• Prepare monthly project updates and coordinate communication across relevant teams
• Directly involved with completion of month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes
• Involvement in the preparation of financial statements, revenue recognition, and revenue forecasting
• Support various leaders with ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 1 years of Accounting experience - ideally in public accounting or Real Estate
• Must have good attention to detail and be organized
• Highly analytical and have good communication skills
