Job Posting: Night Shift Security Officer

**Job Description:**

We are seeking a highly competent full-time Security Officer to join our team. This role focuses on monitoring and protecting our diverse portfolio of properties to ensure the safety of staff, visitors, tenants, and inventory between the hours of 9pm and 5am. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in security and a keen eye to identify suspicious or criminal behavior.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Conduct regular patrols to maintain order and a visible security presence.
  • Greet staff, guests and visitors with attentiveness and courtesy.
  • Respond promptly to distress calls, panic alarms, and emergency incidents, involving law enforcement when necessary.
  • Investigate and take appropriate lawful action on accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activities, as well as safety or fire incidents.
  • Report maintenance needs such as graffiti, broken infrastructure, or malfunctioning lights.
  • Monitor and report unauthorized overnight parking.
  • Uphold the company’s reputation through professionalism and adherence to legal standards.
  • Collaborate with other personnel to ensure comprehensive coverage and protection.
  • Perform foot patrols to secure personnel, assets, buildings, gates, locks, and perimeter fences under varying weather conditions.
  • Compile daily reports including observations, surveillance footage/photographs, and security enhancement suggestions.
  • Accurately record observations and complete incident reports.
  • Provide assistance to people in need and escort staff to their cars upon request.
  • During winter months, undertake additional responsibilities such as applying ice melt, shoveling snow, and conducting fire watch duties as needed.

  • Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations.

  • Clean criminal record.
  • Valid driver’s license.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Aptitude to learn new software and systems.
  • Previous security experience.
