Job OverviewThis position is located at the Holcim Building Envelope rubber manufacturing plant in Prescott, Arkansas, located just 30 minutes from Texarkana, Arkansas/Texas and 2 hours from Little Rock, Arkansas. Under the direction of the Senior Electrical Engineer, the Electrical Technician maintains, modifies, and troubleshoots machine PLC controls and processes to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and increase reliability. Work with various phases of automated controls projects such as: design, estimating, implementing, modifying, and troubleshooting. Participate in the Electrical Preventive Maintenance program to maintain the integrity of electrical infrastructure. Forms a leadership team along with a maintenance supervisor and shift operations manager on one of our four 12-hour shifts. Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate safe electrical work practice.
  • Maintain/troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and/or pneumatic machine controls to increase productivity and quality.
  • Assist maintenance and production with problem solving efforts and plant improvement
projects.
  • Work with the Engineering and Maintenance teams to increase equipment reliability. Perform calibrations on critical sensors.
  • Troubleshoot PLC logic, HMIs, and Networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Modbus) Actuate load break switches on electrical distribution equipment (13.8kV-480V) and rack in / rack out distribution breakers (13.8kV-480V)
  • Safe electrical practices are strictly followed.
Qualifications
  • Strong technical skills including PLC, electrical, and mechanical.
  • Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley Control Systems - including CompactLogix, ControlLogix, Point 10, PanelView, Powerflex 525 & 755 drives.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial network protocols - Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Modbus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use electrical test instrumentation.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
