Holcomb Behavioral Health System is Hiring a Behavioral Specialist Near Aldan, PA

Job Description: It is the responsibility of the Behavior Support Specialist to develop and oversee the implementation of formal behavior management plans, conduct functional behavioral assessments, and provide one-on-one services for children or adults with IDD/Autism and or intellectual disabilities. Behavior Support Specialists assist in the development of adaptive skills for the diagnosed individual to take a more positive role in the home & community settings.

Schedule Details: Full Time - Monday through Friday between 9 am-5 pm

Location: Travel Between 5 Sites Required (Home Office: Aldan, PA)

Program: Residential Habilitative Support

Pay Rate: $32 /hour

Job Functions:

  • Train family members, and other paid personnel on the use of appropriate therapeutic interventions
  • Conduct functional behavioral assessments and write reports summarizing results
  • Implement clinical service delivery goals consistent with overall agency goals and policy/procedures
  • Provide quality clinical, mobile service delivery as defined by Principles of Everyday Lives
  • Collect outcome data according to the ISP
  • Conduct functional behavioral assessments of all new IDD/Autistic individuals on his/her caseload
  • Develop and oversee of implementation of behavior management plans
  • Provide clinical supervision and case consultation to IDD Specialists providing services on all shared cases and for other staff as required by the Coordinator
  • Provide clinical consultation to parents, extended family, teachers, and other adult caregivers regarding prescribed behavioral interventions
  • Provide crisis assessment and behavioral stabilization services as necessary
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, payers, and community support service representatives
  • Provide all authorized client services and provide supporting documentation for re-authorizations, as necessary, promptly
  • Provide the prescribing psychologist with complete, accurate, and timely information regarding the frequency, intensity, and duration of both target behaviors and prescribed replacement behaviors
  • Submit accurate and timely payroll and billing documentation
  • Complete all personally required training as per Professional Development Plan

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Must have a Master’s Degree in Human Services (or a closely related field) or work under the supervision of a professional who has a Master’s Degree in Human Services (or a closely related field

Experience: Complete necessary pre/in-service training based on the participant’s ISP; Be trained to meet the unique needs of the participant which includes but is not limited to communication, mobility, and behavioral needs; Complete training in conducting and using a Functional Behavioral Assessment; Complete training in positive behavioral support.

Licensure/Certification: Licensed or certification preferred, but not required

Required Clearances: Pennsylvania Child Abuse, Criminal and fingerprint-based federal criminal history; Verification that employee is not on any Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion list

Note: At the discretion of the Personnel Officer, additional related experience and/or education may be substituted instead of the requirements specified under Education and Experience
