Minimum Qualifications :

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Retail sales experience preferred
• Ability to work as scheduled and arrive to work on time
• Good communication skills in English (both oral and written)
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)

Essential Duties :

• Accurately ring up sales and handle various types of payments
• Operate fuel console, lottery machine, money order machine, and telecom transactions
• Maintain store cleanliness inside and out, including basic upkeep and cleaning of all equipment
• Inspect store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order
• Contact maintenance for repairs when needed
• Complete build-to orders for merchandise
• Receive and verify vendor deliveries
• Control merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses
• Help maintain proper inventory levels and conduct shift audits
• Assist new applicants with the application process
• Perform duties with minimal supervision
• Attend job-related meetings (may require irregular hours)
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager

Working Conditions :

• Work primarily indoors (95% of the time) but occasionally required to work outside to clean parking lots, gas pumps, take out garbage, etc.
• Exposure to extreme cold temperatures when working in the walk-in cooler or freezer
• Occasional exposure to noise
• Work with minimal direction and periodic supervision

Physical Functions :

• Stand and / or walk for up to 8 hours
• Occasionally lift and / or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead for up to 30 minutes (e.g., stocking inventory)
• Occasionally lift and / or carry up to 60 pounds from ground to waist level (e.g., replenishing fountain syrups)
• Push / pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (e.g., using a hand-truck)
• Bend at the waist with some twisting for up to one hour
• Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands throughout the day (eye-hand coordination required; may need to climb a ladder to store / retrieve materials or place / remove signs)
