Holland America Line is Hiring a Manager, Merchandise Near Seattle, WA
We’re looking for an amazing hotel management professional to fill this role, which is based in our Seattle office. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the overall buying strategy as well as the warehouse, and day to day operations of all HAP Retail outlet locations.

Responsibilities:
- Hands-on daily management of stores, and warehouse operations in season.
- During the planning season, oversee all the buying for the following season. Create opportunities for local product merchandising and attend local/regional trade shows as required.
- Create, implement, and administer Retail department Policies and Procedures.
- Execution of retail product placement strategies and planograms from an operational, inventory management and visual perspective.
- Set all stores for the season, with the assistance of location staff. With continue regular visitation to stores during the season.
- Manage and guide the activities of Store Managers, to meet and exceed guest expectations.
- Maintain open and professional communications with retail personnel, vendors and suppliers.
- Lead the Loss Prevention efforts for the Retail Department ensuring proper controls and metrics are in place for all operations.
- Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure products are shipped to stores in timely manner to maintain full inventory.
- Active on-site leadership and participation in Retail Capital projects.
- Project a commitment to HAP’s environmental policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Merchandising, Marketing, or equivalent field. Commensurate experience may substitute for some of the educational requirements.
- Minimum of 5 years retail management experience in a high-volume, high sales multi-unit retail operation(s).
- Minimum of 2 years retail buying experience.
- Minimum of 2 years retail warehouse / distribution center Management experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with managers, staff, vendors, suppliers
- Excellent analytical skills regarding sales figures, COS, financial statements, and purchase contracts.
- Excellent written, verbal, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Word and Excel software, computerized POS & Inventory Management systems, Guest Survey systems, Labor Management systems, hospitality systems

- Base Salary Range: $68,100-$93,600. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base pay is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
