Holland & Knight LLP is Hiring a Land Use Planner Near Tysons, VA

The Tysons office of Holland & Knight is seeking a Land Use Planner with 2 years of experience to work alongside our real estate attorneys and to assist owners, developers and investors with all facets of land use and zoning, development and operation of residential, commercial, and large-scale mixed-use projects. Applicants must have a strong academic background, excellent writing skills and an attention to detail. Candidates with the following are preferred: a municipal or private-sector setting fulfilling a land use and planning role, or a combination thereof; experience requesting public records from public agencies, filing project applications, and effectuating permits in specific jurisdictions; experience drafting findings and project descriptions, statements of justification, researching code sections and reviewing land use comprehensive plans. Preferred:

  • Experience working on land use applications in Northern Virginia.

  • M.S. in real estate development, urban planning, urban design or related field.

  • Member of American Institute of Certified Planners ("AICP")

  • Member of American Planning Association ("APA")

Job Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree.

  • 2 years of experience working on or providing analysis of real estate project developments in the private or public sector.
