ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:

Holt International developed and maintained programs overseas that served thousands of orphaned, abandoned, and vulnerable children in 14 countries in 2020. Holt International addresses the root causes of child homelessness by working directly with children and families around the world, focusing on developing and delivering programs based on three pillars of service: family strengthening, world-class orphan care, and adoption services. 

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: 

The majority of Holt’s donation funds come through a child sponsorship model that enables growth and sustains overseas programs that serve children and families. Child Sponsorship at Holt International is a marketing program that raises financial resources for children receiving Holt support, while at the same time providing a rich, rewarding experience for Sponsors and potential Adoptive Families. 

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Sponsorship (ADS) this position manages child sponsorship marketing efforts, supports the artist acquisition program, guides outreach to volunteers, and ensures a positive experience for inbound and outbound contacts to Holt child sponsors and donors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Leads Sponsorship operations by: assisting with acquisition and growth strategies and strategic plans that will ensure healthy, sustainable growth, and maintenance of the sponsorship program. Giving input and feedback for implementation of an effective and successful marketing plan that creates an increase in child sponsorship market share and program through various means.

2. Improves sponsorship IT and computer network system needs by: Collaborate with the Business Analysis Team to develop and manage reports and queries that support sponsorship acquisition and retention efforts. Analyze data trends and provide insights to improve marketing and operational strategies.

3. Manages Acquisitions by: Overseeing and updating content used to acquire new sponsors. Monitoring platforms and troubleshooting issues to ensure seamless operation. Maintaining an organized up-to-date photo database.

4. Oversees Expense Process by: Coordinating with the Director of the Artist Program and Finance to ensure timely submission and approval of artist program expenses.

5. Supports Artist Program by: assisting the Assistant Director of Sponsorship to ensure the timely processing and fulfillment of contractual obligations.

6. Provides Promotional Support by: Continuously recruiting and training volunteers throughout the concert season. Adjusts working hours to communicate with volunteers and Artist Tour Representatives after regular business hours.

7. Other Duties as Assigned: Performs additional tasks as required.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS): 

High school diploma, general education degree, or equivalent required. Preference is given to experience related to customer service and administration. Knowledge of the donor development process and work experience in marketing and fundraising is a plus. Must have a thorough knowledge of business English, spelling, and composition. Must be able to learn and retain extensive operating knowledge and have the ability to adapt to changes in procedures and processes.

INFORMATION PROCESSING:  

Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Adobe products; CRM; Blackbaud Luminate; and other computer platforms to research, compose, format, edit, and present correspondence, reports, presentations, and meeting minutes. Evaluate and use judgment to prioritize assignments, organize filing systems, research, and analyze reports. Assesses and acts appropriately with incoming information of a priority to the department, responding to or redirecting requests to the appropriate person for response. 

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: 

Works independently and follows through on established projects. Takes initiative in assigned duties, particularly in selecting among various options to accomplish work. Assesses seriousness/urgency of situations and directs to supervisor as appropriate and as needed. Responsible for following through with marketing strategies under the direction of the Assistant Director of Sponsorship. Occasional weekend correspondence with volunteers. 

INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION:  

Works well with other employees, actively participating in a team environment. Exercises good judgment, courtesy, and tact in contact with Holt International employees, overseas staff, and the public. Responds to special requests of sponsors, donors, and volunteers in a timely and professional manner. Demonstrate superior collaborative skills among a variety of personalities.

IMPACT OF RESULTS: 

Successful execution of sponsorship operations ensures a stable base for sponsorship expansion; a significant percentage of income budgeted annually for overseas programs; and a rich experience for sponsors, all supporting the growth and development of children in Holt’s programs worldwide.
