Holy City Med Urgent and Primary Care is Hiring a Primary Care Physician Near Charleston, SC

Job Description: Primary Care Medical DoctorLocation: Charleston, SC

Position Type: Flexible hours, part-time or full-time

Practice Type: Direct Pay Primary Care Practice

Job Responsibilities

Patient Care:

  • Take medical histories, examine patients, record results, make diagnoses, and develop care plans.
  • Order diagnostic tests such as EKGs, blood work, and imaging, and interpret the results to patients.
  • Perform procedures such as immunizations, cryotherapy, pap smears, and Nexplanon insertion/removal.
  • Communicate with patients in person, via chat, and occasionally by phone regarding treatment.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of patient examinations, diagnoses, and treatments.
  • Provide general health education on matters such as proper diet, family planning, and health maintenance.
  • Prescribe medication in accordance with state guidelines and company policy.
  • Detect changes in patients’ health and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.

Specialized Care:

  • Manage a patient panel of roughly 100 individuals, focusing on preventative medicine, weight management, and behavioral health.
  • Provide evidence-based care and remain proficient in current medical practices.

Technology and Teamwork:

  • Communicate asynchronously with patients and team members.
  • Embrace variability and navigate change confidently.
  • Stay up to date on clinic and company changes and updates.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Degree from an accredited MD/DO program.
  • Board Certified.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Active South Carolina license.
  • Active DEA registration (including schedule II).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a primary care setting; 5 years is ideal.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in weight management, behavioral health, and preventative medicine.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Desire to be an active member of a team dedicated to improving healthcare delivery and accessibility.
  • Confidence to navigate change and embrace variability.
  • Proficient in providing compassionate, evidence-based care.
