Annunciation Parish, a Roman Catholic parish in Gardner, MA is seeking a reliable, energetic individual for a part time custodian position at our Holy Family Academy School and Holy Spirit Church.

POSITION:

Primary responsibility is as school custodian at our Holy Family Academy school building, 99 Nichols St., Gardner. Hours are five hours per day, five days a week (M-F, 2:30-7:30pm), year round. Typical duties include daily cleaning of restrooms, trash collection, vacuuming carpeted floors, sweeping bare floors, cleaning drinking fountains, mopping and other tasks as assigned. Includes annual summer cleaning duties.

Secondary responsibilities for weekly light custodial duties at our Holy Spirit Church building, 50 Lovewell St., Gardner. Duties include; setting up and breaking down tables and chairs in the church hall for functions, sweeping/washing floors, cleaning bathrooms, rubbish & recycling removal. Additional duties may include grounds keeping tasks at our three cemetery properties also located in Gardner during the summer.

This position requires the physical ability to work outside in inclement weather, able to climb four flights of stairs, push, pull and lift in excess of 50 pounds. Ability to operate maintenance and landscaping equipment (lawnmowers, snow throwers, buffing machines, string trimmers, leaf blowers, etc.). Successful applicant will be required to pass background CORI check. Should have reliable transportation. Ability to take direction and carry out duties independently.

EXPERIENCE

Basic custodial and landscaping experience, ability to operate and maintain power equipment. Available on-call evenings and weekends as needed. Serious candidates will be CORI checked, ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions, and interact in a positive manner with school administrators, students, parishioners, visitors and other staff members.
