Position Overview:
As the Director of Finance, you will work directly with the Executive Director and partner with the management team and Board of Directors to develop and execute financial strategies. You’ll play a key role in driving the organization’s financial health, ensuring sustainability, and managing a talented finance team. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Oversee the business office, including budgeting, forecasting, audits, and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and management team on strategic planning and financial decision-making.
- Supervise and mentor business office personnel, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations.
- Provide financial training and consultation to program managers and staff.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial reports to the Board of Directors and other key stakeholders.
- Play a key role in long-term planning for organizational growth and stability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of nonprofit accounting experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of nonprofit financial regulations and funding streams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and must have the ability to learn systems specific to the industry.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Passion for building inclusive communities and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
Essential Job Functions:
- Requires full range of communication and organizational skills.
- Physical abilities required to perform computer skills and operate office equipment.
- Be adequately mobile to visit program sites and navigate about the grounds.
- Have adequate communication skills to effectively interact with staff, vendors and the public.
- Be able to manage multiple and diverse tasks in a complex human service model.
- Be able to drive for the agency.
