Home Builders Institute is Hiring a Program Manager, Development and Partnerships Near Washington, DC

Position Title: Program Manager, Strategic Partnerships

The Program Manager for Development and Partnerships Engagement will be part of a team responsible for identifying and driving new business development and supporting the expansion of program partnerships and grant funding. This position will also be responsible for monitoring and cultivating fundraising solutions and engagements that increase revenue streams aligned with HBI’s strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

New Business Development

  • Drive new business development revenue on an annual basis.
  • Identify and cultivate new fundraising opportunities
  • Assist the development team in building industry sector analyses, targeting strategies for top prospects, and customizing proposals to win new business
  • Secure philanthropic grants and new program opportunities.

Stewardship

  • Foster positive experience for funding partners
  • Grow and manage key philanthropic and industry partner relationships with assigned accounts increasing engagement and revenue for HBI
  • Develop and execute customized strategies that the increase engagement of philanthropic and industry partners throughout the year
  • Retain philanthropic grants and industry partnerships annually.
  • Set reasonable, achievable goals for assigned and new accounts.
  • Find effective solutions to resolve challenges or concerns raised by funding partners and/or stakeholders
  • Ensure appropriate acknowledgement of philanthropic grants and industry partnership awards, as assigned

Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively to achieve mutual engagement and shared fundraising goals with cross-functional teams
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of account data input with the organization’s customer relationship management (CRM) system
  • Serve as the grant writing contractor’s primary contact ensuring requested information and data is received in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting for all philanthropic grants and industry partnership awards, as assigned.
  • Support other projects as needed.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: HBI Executive Team, HBI Board of Trustees, and staff at all levels

External: Philanthropic foundations, industry partners, vendors, contractors, and system(s) end users

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Any combination of experience, skills or education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business/non-profit management, or a related field.

Experience/Skills:

  • Five years of progressive professional experience in grants management, new business development, or fundraising.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record of turning prospects into customers.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, data analytics, budget forecasting, and digital fundraising tools are highly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive new business strategies to support revenue goals
  • Direct experience in customer engagement role(s).
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Ability to navigate competing priorities to achieve goals and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional and personal relationships with key partners and customers.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Usual office-type working conditions; routine physical conditions include walking, carrying, standing, hearing/listening, and sitting; travel (~25%) anticipated.
