We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Aide to provide exceptional care and support to patients in their homes throughout DeKalb County. As a Hospice Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals and their families, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. Duties:

- Provide personal care and assistance to patients, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring patients receive nutritious meals.
- Monitor vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rate.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Assist with medication administration, reminders, and logging medication activity.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support patients with dementia care needs, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Lift and transfer patients as needed with various lifts and mobility aids.
- Engage in activities that promote patient comfort and relaxation, such as reading or playing games.
- Properly document and communicate day to day shift notes and care concerns to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide support with senior care and home community care, promoting independence and dignity.

Skills:

- Experience in caregiving and senior care.
- Knowledge of vital signs and their interpretation.
- Ability to lift and transfer patients safely.
- Experience with meal preparation and home care.
- Familiarity with dementia care and its challenges.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of confidentiality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassion and empathy for patients and their families.
- Willingness to undergo training and ongoing education.
- Employment history in the healthcare industry, preferably in hospice care.
