A Day in the Life: The Home of the Innocents, Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center is a skilled nursing facility providing short-term, long-term, and respite care for pediatric residents with diverse medical, developmental, and physical needs, including congenital abnormalities, traumatic injuries, developmental disabilities, self-harming behaviors, seizures, and complex respiratory and cardiovascular conditions. We are seeking an RN, Infection Prevention (IP) Nurse that will collaborate with nurse leadership and other departments to assist in managing infection prevention to ensure residents receive high-quality care meeting regulatory standards and fostering a safe environment for children, families, and staff to thrive. RN IP Nurse Schedule: Flex Schedule, Monday-Friday, 40 hours/Week RN IP Nurse Responsibilities:
Assist in managing infection prevention, antibiotic stewardship, and wound programs as directed, collaborating with nurse leadership and other departments
Oversee data collection and analysis for infection control and wound management
Coordinate response plans and mitigation strategies for infection prevention and control
Monitor KCPCC for performance improvement opportunities in infection control
Provide education and corrective actions as needed
Ensure regulatory compliance of infection control strategies
Promptly address deficiencies and participate in inspections
RN IP Nurse Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of an associate degree in nursing, required
Unencumbered and current Commonwealth of Kentucky RN License, required
Current CPR/Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification, required
2 years of clinical experience required
Minimal 6 months experience as a direct care nurse in an acute care or long-term care setting, preferred
Experience in Infection Prevention and/or Wound Management, preferred
Pediatric and/or long term care experience, preferred
