Position Summary:

HAC Inc., a locally owned grocery store chain, is seeking a dynamic and engaging Corporate Training Specialist to join our Learning and Development (L&D) team in Oklahoma City, OK. As a key member of our organization, the ideal candidate will possess exceptional public speaking and facilitation skills for adult learners, coupled with a keen attention to detail, organization, and flexibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit enthusiasm for developing and implementing training initiatives aimed at enhancing employee performance, elevating employee satisfaction, and maximizing efficiency in training delivery costs.
  • Apply both public speaking, facilitation skills and adult learning theory to develop effective and engaging learning experiences for adult learners.
  • Create and update training content as needed, collaborating with Instructional Designers and other stakeholders based on new initiatives and/or feedback.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through performance metrics, employee feedback, and observation. Additionally, emphasizes the importance of providing constructive feedback to employees to support their continuous learning and development.
  • Adapt and train various training topics to include but not limited to onboarding, operations, safety, compliance, technology as well as grocery store skills and power skills.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and/or management to identify training gaps and tailor programs accordingly.
  • Whether it is in-person, virtual, or on-site, conduct various training sessions to foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment for a diverse group of adult learners.
  • Support and assistwith Axonify, our learning management System (LMS), ensuring seamless training delivery, tracking, and analytics.
  • Actively participate with the Learning and Development team, assisting with all aspects of program execution and department and HAC, Inc. goals.
  • Additionally, this role involves secondary coordination tasks to ensure smooth execution of training programs across our stores. Responsibilities include assisting with in-store logistics for training sessions, Store Manager Conferences, and various meetings, collaborating with team members across the organization and store managers, and facilitating communication between stores and the Learning and Development department.
  • Travel (up to 75%) within our three-state footprint (primarily Oklahoma) is required.
  • Other duties as assigned to support L&D and the HAC, Inc. organization.

Skills:

  • Grocery and/or retain experience preferred.
  • Amazing internal and external customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt training approaches and content based on feedback and evolving needs, maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical proficiency with Office 365, Adobe Premiere, Articulate Storyline, and screen-capturing software and/or other relevant training tools.
  • Take the lead, be proactive, flexibility and the ability to adapt swiftly to the changing needs of the department and organization.
  • Attention to details.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Initiative-driven with a servant mindset, prioritizing the needs of employees and the organization.


Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Understanding of grocery store operations (stocking, inventory management, food safety, etc).
  • Minimum of two (2) years training and facilitating for adult learners (outside of K-12).
  • Bachelor’s Degree: Education, Training and Development, Organizational Development, or a related field or equivalent experience within the training realm.
  • Proven public speaking and facilitation skills for diverse adult learners.
  • Must be proficient to an expert user with MS Office 365 specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Must be proficient with video call training – MS Teams/ Zoom.
  • Proven learning management (LMS) experience on the administrative side.

Work Environment/Physical Demands: 

  • Position is based on site in Oklahoma City, OK; in office when not traveling.
  • Up to 75% Travel with possible overnights depending on the initiative.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. 
  • Hand use: Grasping, manipulation, pushing, pulling. 
  • Must be able to bend, squat, and reach. 
  • Standing for long periods of time.
    • When training at location, standing may be 100% of the day.
