AmeriCorps is a national service program that provides thousands of Americans with an opportunity to make a difference in their communities. Homes for All is the only AmeriCorps program primarily focused on housing and homelessness in Kentucky. We are looking for compassionate and enthusiastic individuals to serve as AmeriCorps members. These AmeriCorps positions are with Community Action Council.

Activities:

• Intake and Assessment: complete intake process with new clients to assess housing needs and make referrals when appropriate.
• Client paperwork/documentation: assist individuals and households in obtaining necessary documentation needed for housing assistance and funding sources.
• Housing Focused Case Management: use of tools such as the SPDAT to support housing stabilization; client specific action plans to acquire and/or maintain housing; home visits.
• General Case Management: supportive services to help or maintain housing; applying for public benefits, accompanying clients to appointments (e.g. securing ID), assisting with accessing GED services or higher education, assisting with employment applications.
• Service Referrals: connect clients with additional providers to access supplemental services; attend interagency meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

• Willingness to undergo a National Service Criminal History Check
• High school diploma or GED
• Citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States
• Commitment to serve 1700 hours by July 31st, 2025 (approximately 37.5 -40 hours per week)
• Reliable vehicle with valid driver’s license and auto insurance is require
• Be fully vaccinated (included all applicable boosters) against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination required.

Other Information

• 1700 hours to be served by the individual by July 31st, 2025.
• The daily schedule is agreed upon between member and site supervisor
• Some overnight travel and stays for training and service projects required
• AmeriCorps placements can double as practicum/internship
