HomeServices of America is Hiring a Sr Title Closing Processr Near Maple, MN

Edina Realty Title is seeking a Sr. Title Closing Processor for our Maple Grove closing center. Work as part of the closing team and become an integral part of our buyers’ and sellers’ big day. As a Sr. Title Closing Processor, you will be responsible for preparing closing files that will be reviewed and signed at the closing table. You’ll work side-by-side with Closers, Lenders, production staff and Agents as a key team member.

This is an in-office position, working Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Process, review for completeness and organize the closing file.
  2. Monitor the upcoming transaction, reviewing for completeness and compliance and ensuring all necessary information has been ordered and is accurate, i.e. payoff, abstract, title evidence, reports, mortgage documentation, and other pertinent information and review for completeness and compliance.
  3. Order all necessary information for the upcoming closing, including payoff, title evidence, mortgage documentation, inspections and other pertinent information. Schedule closings. Order and coordinate delivery of abstracts. Obtain and review all documents to satisfy lien holders. 
  4. Maintain accuracy of files throughout the closing process. Inform appropriate persons if additional documentation or action is necessary. Follow the progress of loan and title work and facilitate corrections of problems to help maintain a timely closing date. May prepare and submit closed loan or assumption package, deposits and disbursement documentation, recording packages and commission package to the appropriate departments or entities
  5.  Prepare title transfer and mortgage documentation, HUD settlement statements and other required miscellaneous documents for execution. 
  6. Ensure that title issues are resolved prior to closing. Ensure the execution of necessary documents prior to closing. Prepare trust account and commission checks for multiple brokerages. Balance closing files. May meet with sellers for execution of necessary documents for closing including explanation of documents and closing costs. May ensure that all outstanding checks and escrows are cleared and disbursed. 
  7. Coordinate constantly changing daily, weekly and monthly closing calendar with processors and closers to ensure proper coverage of closings.
  8. Ensure that professional and proper procedures are followed in the closing of the real estate and mortgage transactions. This includes proper accounting of escrow funds, reviewing lender packages, recording packages, and correction of all if necessary.
  9. Determine and verify title exceptions. May communicate the problem (or potential problem) to the clients and their respective sales associates or attorneys. Assist to resolve title issues prior to closing. 
  10. Respond in a timely and professional manner to any phone inquiries from our customers regarding pending and closed files. Communicate with sales associates and client about the closing process. 
  11. Prepare and submit deposits and disbursement documentation and/or commission package to appropriate entities.
  12. Handle more complex transactions, respond to questions from other processors, underwrite title insurance limiting risks of claims and resolve title deficiencies.
  13. Prepare and balance the closing disclosure, settlement statements and documentation necessary for closing the transaction. May conduct the closing including explanation of all related documents and closing costs. Follow up on post closing issues with employees and customers to ensure that files are balanced and all conditions have been met.
  14. May perform administrative duties such as, answer phones, type, proof, package and distribute documents and files, perform copying, retrieve files, process mail and courier deliveries and help with mailings. 
  15. Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience and knowledge.

Experience:

  • Five to eight years of real estate, mortgage or title experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong computer skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work efficiently, handle deadline pressures and work as a member in a team-environment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, detail-oriented, self-motivated, organized, with a customer service focus.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Must possess a strong aptitude for figures.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

Other (licenses, certifications, schedule flexibility/OT, travel, etc.):

  • Ability to occasionally work extra hours during peak times of the month.
  • Willingness to travel
  • Position may require a title license.
