Homestead Home Health Care Services is Hiring a Painter Near Wyoming, MI

Responsibilities/Qualifications

Bridgepoint Maintenance is actively seeking a dedicated individual to join our Painting department, servicing our senior living communities in the grand Rapids area. Our painters are responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and functional aspects of the facility’s interior surfaces. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes, and performing touch-ups as needed to ensure a pleasant and well-maintained environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. This role will be instrumental in supporting our maintenance department to uphold high standards in maintaining a beautiful and secure environment. Surface Preparation:

  • Inspect and prepare surfaces for painting by washing, sanding, scraping, and removing old paint.
  • Fill holes, cracks, and joints with putty, plaster, or other fillers.
  • Tape off areas as needed to protect surfaces and ensure clean lines.

Painting:

  • Apply paints, varnishes, and stains to a variety of surfaces including walls, ceilings, doors, windows, furniture, and other structures.
  • Utilize brushes, rollers, and spray equipment to achieve desired finishes.
  • Mix and match paints to achieve specific colors and finishes as required.

Maintenance and Repair:

  • Perform touch-ups and repairs as necessary to maintain the appearance of the facility.
  • Monitor and maintain an inventory of painting supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure all painting tools and equipment are cleaned and stored properly after use.
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to schedule and prioritize painting projects.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and staff to minimize disruptions during painting activities.
  • Assist in other maintenance duties as assigned to support the overall operation of the facility.
  • Strong attention to detail and an eye for color and design.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to handle painting equipment and materials.
  • Keep the maintenance supervisor informed of any issues or occurrences and to seek guidance and support from the supervisor but must be able to perform duties under minimal supervision

Requirements:

  • Assumes responsibility for painting quality and correctness, and cost effectiveness on all jobs
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to travel to job site in own vehicle
  • Traveling a distance is possible, requiring an overnight stay
  • May require standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
  • Exposure to paint fumes and other chemicals; proper PPE will be provided.
