Business Development Manager
Role Summary:
The Business Development Manager is a skilled professional at selling software, services, and/or similar products within K-12, University, community organizations, or other educational spaces. This position is responsible for selling to new client schools and organizations to generate new business. The Business Development Manager will identify new opportunities/leads, execute sales strategy, and generate applicable sales reports. The successful candidate in this position should possess a confident understanding of the company’s products and services, and be driven to provide client schools and organizations with end-to-end solutions that create unparalleled value.
Duties:
Build positive relationships with client contacts, referrals, and stakeholders for athletics, theater, student activities, and community events.
Day-to-day management of prospecting, qualifying, and securing clients within an assigned sales territory.
Daily and weekly sales pipeline management within HomeTown’s CRM software for up-to-date reporting.
Deliver professional sales presentations, both in-person and virtually, to demonstrate how the company’s solutions can effectively solve business problems and improve how the client manages events.
Actively engage in business development activities, including attending trade shows and conferences.
Achieve weekly and monthly goals by developing new business and growing existing business.
Provide mentorship to other Business Development Managers, transferring knowledge and best practices to help ensure team success.
Collaborate cross-functionally with the Implementation and Client Success teams to streamline the client implementation process, and ensure clients successful transition to their long-term Client Success representative.
Identify and understand challenges faced by clients to effectively provide value centered solutions.
Possess a self-starter mindset capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Occasional travel within territory to client locations, meetings, and conferences may be required.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Preferred Education and Experience
5 years of successful sales experience in the education, SaaS or sports/events industries or related industry experience.
Proven success with solution-based selling and consultative sales.
Understanding of school administrator agendas and business priorities.
Experience demonstrating technology solutions both online and face to face.
Strong relationship management skills with professional appearance and approach.
Self-motivated with a competitive spirit, strong work ethic, and the capacity to work independently.
Ability to work from home and travel within a designated territory as required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Time management skills, with the ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times ever-evolving environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, GSuite or related software.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain stationary for a long period of time, including working on a computer.
Position may also be required to travel to client sites. This could include standing and walking for prolonged periods of time, and while outdoors in various weather conditions.
This position may require an employee to carry/lift up to 25 pounds.
