Job Summary:

Assists in the operation of the Dietary Department in a specific area or for the overall department.

Essential Functions:

1. Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as well as personnel matters as confidential information.
2. Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices.
3. Assists in writing cycle menus, diet modifications, dietary assessments and care plans.
4. Assists in administrative functions of the department.
5. Assists in supervising and the orientation of co-workers.
6. Assists in planning and set-up of special functions.
7. Assists in ordering, receiving and inventory control of supplies and equipment.
8. Maintains compliance with all federal, state and local regulations governing the handling and storage of food, food supplies, equipment and work environment.
9. Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

1. High school or equivalent graduate with a completion of a dietary program such as certified dietary manager or culinary arts program.
2. Ability to relate and communicate with co-workers, residents and general public in a friendly and professional manner.
3. Displays initiative and motivation.
4. Standing and walking short distances intermittently during an eight hour shift.
5. Must be able to lift and transfer 30 pounds.
6. Computer and clerical skills preferred.
7. Supervisory experience and organizational skills required.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to constantly work on their feet during an 8 hour shift; bend, stoop, twist, and turn constantly throughout the shift in performing regular duties. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds frequently throughout the shift. Ability to do repeated pushing of food tray carts.
