Honda is Hiring a Powersports Test Unit Lead Near Raymond, OH

Job Purpose

Test/TA Unit Head – Effectively lead functions with vision & strategy, responsible for leading the daily operational, administrative functions of assigned functions including department policy/business process management, process improvement management, organizational/resource management.

Key Accountabilities
  • Directs the overall project/work schedules for all assigned functions. Balance priorities and guarantee that projects and programs are on track. Provide real-time direct and frequent feedback and reinforcement across all test functions without supervision. Support Department Head in development methodologies; manage partnerships with other divisions/Honda companies, vendors and suppliers. Actively participates in the hiring process and creating/maintaining operational policies/procedures
  • Manage the daily activities of team members, extract potential risks, coordinate/implement initiatives, including operations, prioritizing assignments, monitoring/evaluating work progress, providing mentoring, addressing performance/associate relations issues and managing activities including performance reviews, reviewing and approving time sheets and time off requests.
  • Identify short and long-term function needs, develop plans/proposals, and collaborate with Department Head to implement strategic direction to achieve the department scheme, including budget/staffing needs, selection and assessment criteria, actively participating in the hiring process and creating/maintaining operational policies/procedures.
  • Lead all aspects of functions, possesses capability to manage, plan and execute function roles during critical or peak development times. Actively monitors project targets & schedule cross-functionally and has flexibility and capability to address concerns without supervision.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in related field

Minimum Experience:

  • 8 Years related work experience preferably in Power Sports or Automotive field

  • Balance work priorities - resolve conflicts and support associates' multi-tasking
  • Associate matters - support AR/HR related issues in accordance with company policies.
  • Propose and initiate countermeasures to overcome problems which place development at risk
Working Conditions
  • Travel: Up to 10% may be required. Amount varies based on project demands/responsibilities, conferences, etc.; includes possible overseas travel.
  • Physical: Primarily at a desk, some work in a lab and/or test vehicle, frequent keyboarding. Frequent kneeling, standing, reaching, squatting, bending, pushing and lifting. Some physical effort required (pushing 50 pounds; lifting 25–50 pounds).
  • Hazards: Risks found in a typical office & shop setting. Exposure to explosives/flammables, pressurized equipment, toxic chemicals and moving parts.
  • Overtime: Overtime expected based on project demands/responsibilities.
  • Maintains professional conduct and follows all departmental, safety DEPARTMENT, and COMPANY policies, Procedures, AND rules.
