Summary:

Responsible for assisting Engineers and Technicians with a variety of day to day recurring technical engineering support tasks. Follows defined procedures and processes using various equipment in order to complete tasks. Conducts tests and inspections, including setup, monitoring and measuring; maintains and calibrates standards and equipment; and devises new testing methods. Drafts procedures and records laboratory notes and other pertinent details. Works in accordance with general objectives, improving and refining devices and methods, as necessary. Must be able to work standard/non-standard workweeks, including second or third shifts and weekends, as warranted.

Summary of Duties:

• Position will start on 1st shift for training for the first 3-6 months before moving transitioning to a 2nd shift position
• Operates Computed Tomography and Ultrasonic testing systems
• Drafts lab operating procedures based upon comprehensive knowledge of product and testing equipment
• Performs Engineering support duties requiring attention to detail
• Evaluates test results and data for validity, accuracy, and completeness to ensure quality
• Works with engineering to establish test techniques for new product during development and to resolve product or equipment problems
• Improves and refines existing fixtures, devices, methods, process steps or procedures, implementing changes as necessary
• Assists in the development of tests in order to meet product specifications and customer requirements
• Uses six sigma tools and knowledge to refine devices, methods, process steps or procedures, and implements changes as necessary to improve quality and productivity
• Records laboratory notes and other data as specified by engineering personnel
• May perform other duties as required
• Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements
