Summary:

Performs specialized payroll functions and recommends and implements solutions to payroll problems.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Processes payroll for semi-monthly salary and hourly weekly payroll
• Prepares payroll journal entries and reconciles account balances with appropriate records
• Resolves employee’s questions and concerns including timesheet issues, deductions, tax changes, and pay
• Ensures adherence to time keeping policies
• Processes all payments for relocation expenses
• Coordinates accounting methods related to payroll and recommended and implements improvements in departmental procedures
• Performs liaison activities with accounting management, internal and external customers
• Reviews and analyzes payroll data for compliance with policies, procedures, laws, regulations and DOE orders. Assists in training personnel in various payroll routines and procedures
• Analyzes financial system output and initiates corrections as required
• May perform other duties as required
