Summer School Student Assistant Applications are available at the Hood River County School District Office/Human Resources Department and at Hood River Valley High School - Attendance Office. Completed applications are to be returned to the Hood River County School District Office - Human Resources Department (1011 Eugene Street in Hood River) by email at HRCSD.HR@hoodriver.k12.or.us by June 11, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.Summer School Student Assistant - BackgroundSummer school will be located at Mid Valley Elementary for all grades Pre-K - 7th and will run July 1-24, 2024. Work hours for Student Assistants will be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Student Assistants must be available for ALL days of summer school, as well as two required in-service training days on July 1 and 5, 2024. Hourly rate of pay will be the Oregon minimum wage, currently $14.20/hour, increasing to $14.70/hour on July 1, 2024.

• Only HRCSD students between the ages of 15 or older and currently attending high school may apply for a student assistant position.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 15 years of age on the first day of employment.
• Nationwide, criminal justice fingerprint clearance.
• Application submitted with three (3) references from your teachers who can verify:
• School performance, including attendance;
• Initiative, responsibility, and ability to follow directions;
• Knowledge and understanding of the needs and issues related to the student population served at summer school;
• Experience, if any, working with children.

Note: If you are under 18 years old, a parent or guardian must give permission if you are invited for an interview. If hired, a parent or guardian must sign employment forms at the District Office.
