Project / Production Manager (Automated Testing Equipment Manufacture)

Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Project / Production Manager to join our testing equipment manufacturing team in Fort Smith, AR. This role demands a professional who can seamlessly manage the production process, ensure quality control, and effectively coordinate with various stakeholders, including general contractors and engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both electrical and mechanical systems, be proficient in reading and interpreting drawings, and possess some knowledge of 2DCAD drafting software.

Key Responsibilities:

Travel and On-Site Management:

  • Travel to client sites and manufacturing facilities as necessary to oversee project execution.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Address and resolve any on-site issues promptly.

Project Management:

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of projects.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with general contractors (GC) and ensure that project drawings and specifications are accurately followed.
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to address any deviations.

Production Oversight:

  • Manage and supervise the production process to ensure efficiency and adherence to project timelines.
  • Develop and organize work schedules, assigning tasks to production staff.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure products meet the highest standards.
  • Continuously review and improve production processes to enhance efficiency and quality.

Coordination and Communication:

  • Work closely with engineering teams to keep projects on track.
  • Maintain open communication channels between production teams and management.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the production floor and other departments, ensuring seamless information flow.

Technical Expertise:

  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings accurately.
  • Utilize 2DCAD drafting software for reviewing and updating project drawings as needed.
  • Provide guidance and support to production teams.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and motivate production teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Identify training needs and provide opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with 2DCAD drafting software or other drafting software.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel as required by the project.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in various environments, including office settings, manufacturing facilities, and client sites.
  • Capability to lift and carry materials and equipment as needed.
  • Ability to travel including overnight stays.
