Hopco is Hiring a RN - Employee Health Coordinator Near Phoenix, AZ

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in nursing is required. 
  • Minimum five years of nursing experience required.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Arizona is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
  • At least one year management experience preferred.
  • Employee Health experience is preferred.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtained within 90 days of hire is preferred.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the Employee Health Program which includes management of new employees through the new hire process; maintenance of health records on all employees; ensuring compliance with flu vaccinations for all employees; managing workplace injuries and blood borne pathogen exposures including working with human resources on workman’s comp procedures. Responsible for education as necessary either 1:1 in case of injuries and new hire process or through the annual skills fair.
  • Maintains flexibility when managing multiple roles and responsibilities, responds to changes in nursing practice and develops programs to support those changes, completing assigned tasks and projects in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates Workers Compensation Program with Human Resource Manager to ensure an effective program that includes Light Duty and Return to Work Programs. Maintains OSHA 300, 300-A, 301 and Sharp’s Injury Logs; provides reports of work-related injuries to administration and EOC committee and communicates with managers of “high-injury” departments to resolve safety issues and arranges for in-services as needed. Follows up with injured workers when incidents of potential exposure to infectious diseases occur.
  • Participates in, or chairs committees, work groups, and meetings as deemed necessary. Can demonstrate measurable results and meets target dates.
  • Performs health assessments of new hires, including review of past health history, TB screening, vaccinations, respiratory fit testing. Performs annual TB screening screenings and annual respiratory fit testing reviews per hospital policy. Maintains employee health files.
  • Integrates ethical principles in all aspects of practice and ensures that the educational program is congruent with the hospital mission, values, and goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
