Hope Academy for Autism is Hiring a Lifeskills High School Special Education Autism Teacher Near Mesa, AZ

Hope Academy welcomes you to join our team for the 2024-2025 academic school year.
Thank you for your interest in working with us. A little bit about Hope Academy, we service students on the autism spectrum from Kindergarten through 12th grade. We strive to be unique and offer services that other schools do not offer. We have animal therapy come in weekly with different animals such as an alpaca, miniature horses, and so many different types of dogs! We have music, P.E, special Olympics, clubs, and a cooking class.
We want our students to experience everything possible because we know they are capable of achieving it all. We coordinate school events and field trips at least once a month if not more! We go above and beyond for our students for any holidays! We are currently looking for teachers and teacher aides who are fun, energetic, and want to really make a difference in our students' lives. It is very rewarding to see first hand the students' happiness and joy.

Overview of a Hope Teacher:
  • Provide a clean and fun environment for students to learn in.
  • Prepare engaging and hands-on activities every week.
  • Use school curriculum with additional resources to modify work if needed.
  • Redirect and engage students during lessons.
  • Be a team player with all staff.
  • Assess students in academics for current grade placement.
  • Implement different techniques specific to students with different learning modalities.
  • Having the opportunity to plan outside field trips (aquarium, grocery store, museum, etc).
  • Participate in school-wide events.
  • Gather information for updating IEP and existing data reports.
  • Communicate with parents on a regular basis.
  • Meet with parents to discuss their children's progress and to determine priorities for their children and their individualized educational needs.
  • Integrate daily life skills activities to develop student independence.
  • Collaborate with other classrooms to provide social interaction in fun engaging activities with each other.
