Job Summary
Position available as an "on-call" classroom aide who will work with individual students and small groups under the direction of certificated personnel. Will support and assist with the implementation of a standards based curriculum, provide support for at risk students, provide supervision during recess and lunch.
Job Description / Essential Elements:
Instructional Aide
Examples of duties/essential functions:

• Support and maintain classroom policies
• Monitor students, direct activities to reinforce instruction as directed by the teacher
• Maintain a safe and positive learning environment
• Work with small groups of students
• Confer with teachers as needed concerning programs and materials to meet student needs
• Provide supervision during recess and lunch
• May administer first aide and medical assistance to provide appropriate care for students
• Perform other duties as assigned

Abilty and Physical Demands:

• Maintain confidentiality of students' records
• Understand and carry out oral and written instructions
• Verbal and written capabilites to effectively communicate in an articulate manner
• Occasional bending, moving
• Clarity of vision at varying distances to monitor students' behavior during classroom activities
