Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide counseling services to individuals and groups, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques and interventions. This position is located at a juvenile detention center, working with youth 13 to 19 years old. Hours can be flexible. Can by FTE or PT employment.
Licenses & Requirements:
2 or more years working preferably with young adults or adolescents with behavioral health and or substance abuse diagnosis
MUST meet licensing requirements and possess one of the following:
Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselors: CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGADC, LCADC, LGPC, LMSW,LCPC, LCSW-C, LGMFT, LGPAT, Psych Associate, OR Active Alcohol & Drug Trainee Employment Authorization (ADT)
Duties:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions
- Perform diagnostic evaluations to assess clients' needs
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records
- Utilize behavior management strategies to support clients
- Implement specialized therapies to enhance youth awareness of decision making
- Conduct clinical research to enhance counseling practices
- Provide addiction counseling and support services
Requirements:
- Proficiency in individual and group counseling techniques
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies
- Knowledge of special education principles
- Ability to conduct diagnostic evaluations effectively
- Experience in addiction counseling is a plus
