Bakery Shop Manager at The Buttery ATL 

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic manager to oversee our guest-facing shop within our bakery. The Buttery is a wholesale and retail bakery serving breads and pastries baked every morning alongside a selection of prepared takeaway offerings. We have indoor seating and a patio for guests to enjoy freshly brewed coffees and built to order breakfast sandwiches.

What is the Job?

The bakery shop manager is responsible for overseeing the quality and profitability of the business. They oversee and direct front of house staff, purchasing and inventory, and general maintenance of the shop. The manager will work closely with their peers in management of the financial logbook, ordering/receiving and invoice standards, scheduling, hiring, and training. They will create a welcoming and memorable experience by helping guests, championing special promotions, and maintaining the shop aesthetic.

What are the responsibilities?

• Manages pre-orders, from maintaining stock levels online to packing orders
• Champions holiday pre-orders, from the website, to the culinary production sheet, to the packing of orders and management of time slots
• Maintains financial logbook upkeep, assisting with reporting, ordering/receiving logs, and data analysis
• Oversees and maintains a clean, organized shop according to brand standards; restocks all items as needed throughout shift and oversees shop inventory
• Works with culinary team and baristas to ensure quality of food and beverage
• Oversees safety and sanitation, managing repairs and maintenance
• Oversees front of house schedule and training plans
• Conducts ongoing training and hiring to ensure staff members are upholding core values and standards
• Assists operations manager in management of wholesale orders, delivery team and routes, invoice processing, hiring, and ordering as needed

What are the requirements?

• 5 year(s) of retail or hospitality experience preferred
• Food safety knowledge; ServeSafe food handler or food manager certification preferred
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook 365 and Excel
• A high level of personal integrity, professionalism, and maturity
