Horizon House is Hiring a Part-time/PRN Social Service Professionals Near Indianapolis, IN

Horizon House, a day services provider to individuals experiencing homelessness, is currently seeking part-time/PRN Guest Service Associates & Case Managers & to join our growing team! Perfect opportunity for social service professionals seeking additional part-time income!
**Willingness to work evening & Saturday hours is required for all positions**
Available hours: Tuesdays & Thursdays (4pm-7pm); Saturdays (8am-1pm)
Guest Service Associates:
Guest Service Associates assist clients (neighbors) by providing basic services. In addition, this role is also responsible for coordinating services in the dayroom and helping ensure that individuals are treated with hospitality, dignity and respect, and that their needs are addressed in a caring, efficient and effective manner.
Requirements:
Training/Education:
  • High School Diploma/GED required; additional education/training preferred
Experience/Skills:
  • Ability to engage homeless neighbors in services by developing positive professional relationships with neighbors, co-located partners and other community partners
  • Strong customer service skills and de-escalation skills preferred; willingness and ability to learn these skills required
  • Prior human services experience preferred
  • Proficient skills for using email, MS Office, and web-based data/information management system required
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Willingness to work evening/weekend hours
Case Managers:
The Case Manager position is responsible for enrolling new individuals or families experiencing homelessness (neighbors) into Horizon House services. A thorough assessment includes identification of each individual's needs, resources, strengths, and interests related to addressing barriers to income and housing stability. This position also functions in a triage capacity to address immediate needs of neighbors as well as to link them to resources, services and supports for long term stability.
Requirements:
Training/Education:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience required
  • Prefer one to two years' experience in a program providing services to individuals / families experiencing homelessness or poverty (may include educational/academic, internship and/or volunteer experience)
Experience/Skills:
  • Requires the ability to support individuals experiencing homelessness by developing professional helping relationships with neighbors, agencies, and community partners
  • Requires strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Requires knowledge of human behavior and skills to assess client strengths and needs;
  • Prefer working knowledge of community resources
  • Willingness to work evening/weekend hours
