Sanitation Coordinator

Full Time - Hourly

  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States

Job Responsibilities

  1. Assist the Hatchery Manager, maintain a high degree of operating efficiency in all mechanical equipment within the Hatchery & make repairs & adjustments according to prescribed procedure
  2. Plan and schedule activities for weekly 1st and 2nd shifts
  3. Make the prescribed humidity, temperature, turning checks on incubators & hatchers when such checks fall during your scheduled working hrs.
  4. Insure that all daily, weekly, monthly maintenance checks and sanitation procedures are fulfilled according to direction in communication with the Hatchery Manager.
  5. Maintain a necessary inventory of supply parts for incubators, hatchers, & plant equipment
  6. Perform building maintenance in all areas under the instructions of & in close communication with the Hatchery Manager
  7. Through innovation, maintain an ongoing evaluation of methods, Equipment & techniques utilized in your area & identify what potentials exist for further least cost, high quality poult production
  8. Accept other responsibilities & duties requested periodically, consistent with the overall Hatchery team approach to least cost production

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Good oral communication skills to effectively deal with peers, team members & outside contractors
  2. Able to work any scheduled holidays
  3. Good mechanical skills with abilities in electricity, mechanical equipment, pneumatic & hydraulic systems
  4. Able to meet Hatchery/Breeder sanitation/isolation policy requirements
  5. Able to work with live turkey poults

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 4 yrs experience in the areas of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic & gas powered equipment
  2. Experience with working with incubation/hatchery equipment
  3. Cost control/budgeting experience
  4. Organizational skills in the areas of scheduling labor, workload, &/ or ordering parts and equipment
  5. Experience in employee development, training and evaluation
  6. Able/experience in working with microprocessors
